This 10-week class is the second of a three quarter sequence in Biblical Hebrew. Students will quickly progress from learning to read and write the alphabet and core vocabulary to reading and composing short sentences in Hebrew. By the end of the quarter students will be reading sections from the book of Genesis. The only prerequisite is the desire to learn and a commitment to completing the weekly assignments.
This class incorporates a wide range of teaching tools to give the student a good grasp of the Hebrew language and handle the biblical texts. Students will be able to go through the textbook with pre-recorded lectures and then take their knowledge to live online classes every week with instructor Rob Vanhoff.
During the live classes, students will be able to ask questions and will read through various texts of the Bible asking questions and getting a better understanding of the text while reading.
Live classes will take place on Mondays at 5:00pm Pacific Time . Although classes will be recorded for those who are not able to attend, students are required to attend a minimum of 6 live classes in order to pass a course.
